Sign of Cross and Grace
Priest: Alleluia! Christ is Risen.
All: The Lord is Risen indeed. Alleluia!
Priest: May His Grace and peace be with you.
All: May he fill our hearts with joy.
(Welcome, Greeting & Theme)
Priest: My sisters and brothers, not out of dread and fear, but believing in the understanding and forgiveness of God, let us rid ourselves of what we need to carry no longer.
Priest: Eternal Maker of the endless heavens, lowly Christ, befriender of the changing earth, Holy Spirit, wind over the flowing waters, in earth, sea and sky you are ever present.
All: O hidden mystery, sun behind all suns, soul within all souls, in everything we touch, in everyone we meet, you are there, and we give you thanks.
Priest: But where we have not touched but trampled you in creation, where we have not honoured but avoided you in one another, where we have not received but rejected your goodness, forgive us, and hear our plea for your pardon.
Priest: Holy God,
All: Holy and mighty, holy and immortal, have mercy on us.
Priest: Let us live as those who treasure God’s costly generosity, by safeguarding God’s earth, delighting in its people, and loving our Maker to whom be glory for ever.
All: Thanks be to God. Amen.
Processional Hymn: You are the way
Act of Praise: Lead me Lord
Liturgy of the Word
1st Reading: 1 Peter 2:4-9
Psalm Refrain: “Let your love be upon us Lord even as we hope in you”
Gospel Acclamation: “Alleluia”
Gospel: John 14:1-12
(silent meditation after homily)
The Apostle’s Creed
Priest: Let us confess out faith of our Baptism as we say,
All: I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
The Prayers of the People
Let us pray to the Lord saying: “Hear us Lord of Glory”
Offertory Hymn: Christ above me
Prayer over the Offering
The Lord’s Prayer
Divine Gift (Modified)
Sacrifice became for us the gift of life
We hold it dear, you are always here.
When trials appear
Help us Lord to trust, not fear.
Let stillness draw us in
To the One within.
You are here with us.
You are here in us.
You are here as us.
Prayer after Silent Communion
Priest: Glory to God,
All: whose power working in us can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine. Glory to God from generation to generation, in the Church and in Christ Jesus, for ever and ever. Amen.
Priest: Is God good?
All: God is good.
Priest: Is life worth living?
All: Life is worth living.
Priest: Is the best yet to come?
All: Always, the best is yet to come.
Priest: Then go, as friends of Jesus and enjoy him forever.
In the name of the Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer.
