Prayers of the People

Prayers of the People for the 15th Sunday in Ordinary Time, July 12th, 2020

The response to Praying as one: “Lord, Hear our Prayer.”

Nature God, we grow as the seeds grow and we feel nurtured by you, valued on the path, on rocky ground, amongst the thorns, as well as on the good soil. May we recognize and appreciate the opportunities to grow regardless of our race, religion, age or circumstance, knowing you are here for us, helping us to grow to the best of our ability. To see in everyone and everything the value and the beauty, appreciating all life and all matter. (Pause Moment…) Praying as one: “Lord, Hear our Prayer.”

Loving God, you call us together as Church to love as you love, to heal as you heal, to serve as you serve, seeing life with gratitude and kindness. We pray for all communities of people, and of living beings, including the schools of whales, and the nests of ants. Praying for Meadows Parish and Marystown Parish in their challenges to be together in this time of social distancing. (Pause Moment…) Praying as one: “Lord, Hear our Prayer.”

Amazing God, you reveal to us the miracles of change, raising new life out of death, hope out of despair, opportunities out of failures, relationships out of brokenness. Be in us to be instruments of change to heal the world of hatred, animosity, discrimination, greed, and jealousy. Remembering especially the conflicts arising out of these times of stress and fear, that we may see opportunities, potential and renewed life. . (Pause Moment…) Praying as one: “Lord, Hear our Prayer.”

Healing God, lay your loving hands on the sick, the neglected, the isolated, the hopeless, that all may know and feel your loving embrace and be raised to new life in you. (Pause Moment…) Praying as one: “Lord, Hear our Prayer.”

Gathering God, bring us together with the energy to encourage new life, knowing our being is being in you, our love is loving in you, our hope is hoping in you, and our life is life in and with you. (Pause Moment…) Praying as one: “Lord, Hear our Prayer.”
