An Affirmation of Christian Faith
We believe in God above us,
Maker and Sustainer of all life, of sun and moon, of water and earth, of male and female.
We believe in God beside us,
Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh, born of a woman, servant of the poor, tortured and nailed to a tree. A man of compassion, he died forsaken; he descended into the earth to the place of death.
On the third day he rose from the tomb; he ascended into heaven to be everywhere present; and his kingdom will come on earth.
We believe in God within us,
the Holy Spirit of Pentecostal fire, life-giving breath of the church, spirit of healing and forgiveness, source of resurrection and eternal life.
The Prayers of the People
Refrain: Lord, Hear our prayer
Offertory Hymn: You are my all in all
Prayer over the Offering
The Lord’s Prayer
Divine Gift (Modified)
Sacrifice became for us the gift of life
We hold it dear, you are always here.
When trials appear
Help us Lord to trust, not fear.
Let stillness draw us in
To the One within.
You are here with us.
You are here in us.
You are here as us.
Prayer after Silent Communion
Priest: Glory to God,
All: whose power working in us can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine. Glory to God from generation to generation, in the Church and in Christ Jesus, for ever and ever. Amen.
Priest: Do what God wills.
Follow where Christ calls.
Pray for the gifts of the Spirit.
And may the blessing of God the Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer rest on you and remain with you now and always.
Recessional Hymn: You are Holy, Prince of Peace
