Notices: Lent 1, 26 February 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Good day dear friends, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lenten journey begins with Jesus battling himself (his self consciousness) in silence and solitude. He invites us to do the same. It is the only way for us to open up to and connect with our deeper life in God. We need to die to self. This is the Way of the Cross. We need to die before we die in order to live. What we have to die too, what we have to get deeper than, is our ego and very limited thinking mind. It is in our spiritual depths that we can discover and live out of our true Divine identity in Christ. This is ultimately what the spiritual path is meant to lead us into.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Holy Communion<\/strong> every Sunday at 11am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be a joint parish (Bay Roberts\/Coley\u2019s Point, Shearstown\/Port de Grave, and the Resurrection) Lenten Quiet Day<\/strong> on the 2nd of March, from 10am to 2pm at St.Matthew\u2019s. All are welcome. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new s<\/strong>ix week Revive course <\/strong>has begun on “Engaging in Scripture” – How to read and meditate with the Bible. Please keep this important discipling ministry in your prayer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A number of our parish leadership are doing the \u201cRevive\u201d program<\/strong> this winter. It is a program that helps equip lay leaders to be spiritual leaders. The participants will learn about themselves and discern their life\u2019s calling; explore their faith journey and enter into a relationship with God; enjoy a sense of community and deepened relationships with peers; gain confidence with prayer, scripture, and spiritual leadership; and discern gifts for their calling to serve God\u2019s world. Please pray for those participating in this program this winter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Annual Reports<\/strong> for 2022 are now due. Send them to  Father Gerald as soon as possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A note from the recorders<\/strong>: Please use your regular name on contribution envelopes (not nick names). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
