Sunshine Giving Campaign
“Kindness is the sunshine in which virtue grows” Robert Ingersoll
As you know, the Parish of the Resurrection does a good deal of meaningful ministry and outreach in our region, and is having a positive impact on the lives of many people. It is a ministry that needs your support, even in the slower summer months. Therefore the Vestry is launching a new “Sunshine Giving Campaign.”
The “Sunshine Giving Campaign” was chosen as an appropriate slogan for a number of reasons including its likeness to our Parish programs. In its literal meaning, sunshine is something that is vital for life and growth. On another level it is an energy that can provide light, comfort and warmth and is quite welcome by people often living in despair. Sunshine in Newfoundland also comes with summer, which is a down time in our Parish for attendance and free will giving. As a result, the summer season is also a time when the Parish struggles.
Our sincere request is that you are able to pledge $50.00 (two coffees a week for June, July and August) towards this initiative above your regular free will giving. Winston Churchill once said, “You make a living from what you get; you make a life from what you give.” Please join with us in creating a ray of sunshine in the lives of others in our Parish, our community and by your very offering yourself. Your name will be included in our “Sunshine Garden” directory. Enclosed is an envelope with return address. You may also contact any member of the vestry at the above address should you have further questions or require any assistance. Arrangements can also be made to pick up your donation. You can make a difference! You can be the difference!
Thanks so much for all your support!
