Parish Notices for January 2023
Notices: January 2023
Good day folks,
After 17+ years our current electronic piano is having some problems. The parish has purchased the instrument already as music is a vital aspect of our liturgy and one I’m sure you would not want to be without. Starting this Sunday we will be having a campaign to cover the cost of a new electronic piano.
The Campaign is called:
Buy a Key, Share in the Music.
Each key will cost $45.
You can buy more than one key or share the costs of a key with someone.
Payments can be made by cash , cheque or EMT to the parish. If you are using cash or cheque, please ensure you write “keyboard or piano “ on the outside of the envelope. If using EMT, please write “keyboard or piano “ in the comment section (finance@anglicanresurrection.com). This will ensure proper credit to you and to the campaign. And let Valerie know that you have made a donation.
Thank you all for your continued support of this parish
Make a joyful noise,
Valerie

A number of our parish leadership are doing the “Revive” program this winter. It is a program that helps equip lay leaders to be spiritual leaders. The participants will learn about themselves and discern their life’s calling; explore their faith journey and enter into a relationship with God; enjoy a sense of community and deepened relationships with peers; gain confidence with prayer, scripture, and spiritual leadership; and discern gifts for their calling to serve God’s world. Please pray for those participating in this program this winter.

Meditation: Is your mind working on overload? Do you go to bed at night with racing thoughts? Are you carrying your inner burdens and worries with you everywhere you go? Or maybe you would simply like to deepen your experience of life? Learning and practicing meditation is a means to bring inner peace, compassion and contentment into our lives as they are. If you want to learn more about this, a meditation group meets at 11am on Wednesdays at the Parish of the Resurrection in South River. For more information, contact Father Gerald at fathergerald@anglicanresurrection.com.
If you are interested in learning more about mindfulness and meditation, join us at the Resurrection in South River on Wednesdays at 11am. These sessions are recorded and, if interested, you can watch and participate from home on our Facebook and Youtube channel.
If you and your family and friends would like to be part of the Sunday Lunch Ministry and help provide meals occasionally throughout the year, then contact Bob Bishop or Father Gerald.
