June/July Notices 2023

Notices: Summer Notices 2023

Good day dear friends,

The summer season is upon us. This is the time of year when we are invited to create some space in our lives for some rest and recreation. The Newfoundland summer season is short, and it is helpful to our overall wellness to lighten up our calendars and to get out into the beautiful creation that is our island home. We are the church, the People of God, wherever we are. And it is important that we continue to be church during these summer months. Your prayer and your devotional reading is important to maintain, along with participation in the church’s Sunday liturgy. Please remember your regular and ongoing financial offerings during these summer months, as our financial commitments do not take a holiday. Praying for a blessed summer season in the church and in your homes.

Love

Father Gerald+

For those joining us on-line, we invite you to use this prayer for Spiritual Communion:

Lord Jesus, I believe that you are truly present in the Holy Sacrament. However, since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, I beseech you to come spiritually into my heart. I unite myself with you, and embrace you with all the affections of my soul. Let me never be separated from you. Let me live and die in your love. Amen.

Father Richard Rohr is a contemporary leader in the

deepening faith and spiritual practice movement through

out the Christian church. If you would like a little more

help and encouragement in deepening your own faith

our parish, go to www.cac.org, and at the top of that

page, subscribe to Father Richard’s daily e-mails. I

highly recommend it.

With reference to any infectious disease, prevention is the best approach to protection. Individuals are advised to take precautions around general hygiene and public health. Clean, Cover and Contain is the recommended approach.

Clean: wash hands regularly with soap and water or hand sanitizer.

Cover: use a tissue or arm to cover coughs and sneezes as opposed to the hands which frequently touch other surfaces and people.

Contain: individuals with influenza-like symptoms should stay at home to minimize contact with others and to treat the symptoms of the illness.

If you have any symptions for cold or flu, please stay at home.
