The Oratory

The Oratory (place of prayer) at the Resurrection is a unique worship in our province. We sit in the round facing one another, with the altar at one end of the oratory, and the ambo (Table of the Word) at the other end. The space communicates participation, equality in celebration, and flexability in how the space is used. We introduce ourselves to those we do not yet know at the beginning of the liturgy. We dance with the children in the center of the Oratory before they go out for Godly Play during the liturgy of the Word. We ring the prayer bowl after the homily and Holy Communion to lead us into intentional communal silence. And we offer the opportunity to share lunch together after every Sunday liturgy. Come and join with us in a celebration of Life in Christ.
